AMBASSADORS

"NO VETERAN IS EVER BURIED ALONE."

The mission of the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery Volunteers (SWVAVCV) Ambassador Program is to have a person (Ambassador) attend all veterans' funerals held at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery.  Our presence is our organization's way of honoring veterans for their service to our country.  Our goal is to ensure that the SWVAVCV's Ambassador's Program is modeled after the Arlington Ladies.  The Arlington Ladies stand a silent vigil at every veteran's funeral at Arlington National Cemetery.  The SWVAVCV Ambassador's Program includes both male and female members.

The Ambassador's Program is open to the SWVAVCV volunteers, individuals from other organizations, and private citizens.  Those serving as Ambassadors must be available Monday-Friday between 8 am and 5 pm one duty day per month.  Dates may fluctuate from month to month.  All Ambassadors are required to follow the procedures outlined in the handbook and are required to sign a commitment statement.

If you think you might be interested in becoming an Ambassador, check our contact page to get in touch with us.  Help us to insure that NO VETERAN IS EVER BURIED ALONE!
